Overview: Easilys allows food service managers to manage menu plans so that they can ensure their team can handle various menu categories, customize offerings, and plan for different days of the week.
Start from: The Easilys menu.
Menu plans
A menu plan is a structured framework designed to tailor offerings for different days of the week while ensuring compliance with dietary requirements and client preferences. In Easilys, menu plans are managed through the Menu Pre-Design screen, which streamlines purchasing, production, and menu distribution across multiple locations.
Before creating a pre-design, it is essential to configure rules using the Smart Particularity screen to exclude specific products, allergens, or ingredients based on client preferences.
For more information, refer to Manage custom rules for menu planning.
Create a Menu Plan
Navigate to Menus > Menu Pre-Design.
Click the + Create button.
In the Creating a new menu plan window, fill in the following fields:
Name*: Enter the name of the menu plan.
Time Period*: Specify the period this plan will cover.
Days of the Week*: Select which days this plan will include.
Menu Templates*: Choose the templates you wish to include in the plan.
Select Validate to complete the creation.
Assign Recipes to Menu Plans
Select the action menu (three dots) next to the menu plan’s row and click Configure.
A grid will display the menu plan with all relevant services and meal elements tied to the selected frames.
Assign the first recipe proposal as the primary option for all sites.
Add secondary recipe options to address specific client or location needs.
Validate Recipes
Select the Simulator button to validate whether the assigned recipes meet all client and dietary requirements.
Verify the following:
Green check: The recipe is valid for the meal element (e.g., a starter).
Alerts: Hover over any issues to identify locations or groups rejecting the recipe. For example, a school may reject a recipe containing an ingredient like asparagus, and gluten-free menus may reject certain desserts.
You can resolve issues by adding a second recipe option (e.g., "Chicken Fillet" for a school rejecting "Beef with Asparagus"), or replacing the recipe entirely with one that meets all requirements.
Apply the Menu Plan Across All Locations
Once the menu plan is finalized and validated, click the Impact Menus button.
In the confirmation window, select Publish. This will roll out the menu plan to all child sites and ensure dietary requirements and guest preferences are respected.
