Overview: Easilys empowers food service managers to forecast sales effectively, enabling them to input, review, and validate sales expectations for individual products. This tool utilizes POS data and sales history to streamline order preparation, production planning, and staffing needs.

Start from: The Easilys Menu.

  • Navigate to Sales > Sales forecast.

To create a sales forecast, follow these four steps:

1. Set up services and items

  • Select Add meal type to add one or more services (e.g., lunch, dinner).
  • Select relevant items such as dishes, drinks, or additional sales for each service.
  • Select Save.
  • After saving, you can:
    • Select + Add meal type to add new meal types.
    • Select + Add a recipe to include new recipes under the meal types.
    • Use the Manage the meal types button to add, remove, or edit meal type options.

2. Generate forecast based on sales history

Forecasts are based on sales history retrieved from the POS system, like the number of covers per service, and average quantities sold per day, service, and recipe.

  • Select Forecast.
  • Select a Reference Period (a complete week or multiple weeks) to calculate averages. For example, sales data from all Mondays in the selected reference period will calculate the average for future Mondays.
  • Choose a Target Period (another complete week) to apply forecasts, with the option to adjust averages by a percentage increase or decrease.
  • Adjust the averages by setting an Evolution value (a percentage increase or decrease).

Notes: Forecasts round up to the nearest whole number; for example, 2.3 is rounded to 3. Days with no sales (zero) are excluded from calculations.

3. Refine forecasts and staffing levels

You can adjust forecasts manually to reflect anticipated changes in sales or staffing levels.

  • White boxes display forecasted staffing levels for each day. These boxes are editable.
  • Once the day has passed, actual POS data replaces these figures, and the boxes are greyed out.

Notes: Adjustments to staff numbers in a department will directly impact forecasted revenue amounts.

4. Validate weekly forecasts

  • Finalize forecasts by selecting Validate.
  • Confirm in the popup window by selecting Yes.
  • Validation updates related screens:
    • Supplier Orders > Order Preparation: Quantities to order are adjusted.
    • Production > Production Plan: Production data is aligned with forecasts.
Notes: You can Revalidate previously validated weeks as needed.
