Overview: As a restaurant manager, you can attach a generic ingredient to products to ensure the continuity of recipe sheets, even when product listings change. This guide takes you through the process.

Start from: The Easilys menu.

You can link a product to a generic ingredient as soon as it is created.

However, if you haven't made the connections at that time, or if you wish to modify them, you'll have to go through your price lists to update these products.

  • Select the Products > Price lists tabs.

  • Select the price list in which the product you wish to link to a generic ingredient is found.
  • Select the name of the product available in the price list.

The management panel appears at the bottom of the screen.

  • Select the pencil icon visible in the second column of the table.

The “Update an industrial product” window appears on-screen.

  • In the “Attach to ingredients” section, select Attach to an ingredient +.

  • Select the desired generic ingredient from the list that View.
  • Select Update to sign off the modification.

  • To delete an ingredient, select the cross next to it.

You can see that a generic ingredient does not match any product from the list of ingredients in the Ingredient Administration screen, and from the details of a recipe viewed from the Menus screen.

If the product does not match any product, you will see this icon next to the generic ingredient:


 
From a recipe file with the simulator enabled, you can see that the ingredients do not match products when Easilys does not replace these ingredients with products.
