Overview: As a restaurant manager, you can duplicate a price list to streamline the creation of new, similar price lists from another supplier or over a different period. This guide takes you through the process.
Start from: The Easilys menu.
Duplicating a price list can be useful in different cases: creating a new price list more quickly for a different supplier with an equivalent product catalogue and/or having a tracking of purchases by period on the same price list.
WARNING : Modifications to industrial products will impact the duplicated price list AND the original price list. Thus, if there are too many differences between these 2 price lists, it is advisable to create a new one without duplicating another price list.
WHY DUPLICATE A PRICE LIST?
Create a new price list more quickly for a different supplier
You have a completed price list from supplier A, and you need to create a price list for supplier B, which has almost all the same products. Duplicating the price list allows you to have a copy of supplier A's price list and simply attach it to supplier B.
In just a few clicks, supplier B's price list is ready, although you may simply need to delete a few products or create new ones.
Track purchases by period on the same price list
Easilys saves the purchases made on the products of a price list over its period of validity. You can therefore duplicate a price list valid for this year (with a start and end date) and modify the validity period of the new price list so that it is valid for the next year.
This keeps track of your purchases by year.
Note, however, that this is not the only way to keep track of your purchases. The “Scorecards” screen available in the “Management” section can provide you with an analysis of your purchases over different periods. Keeping price lists is a complementary method for keeping precise track of purchases for each price list product, without having to use the “Receiving: detailed billing status” report available on the “Receptions” screen in the “Supplier orders” section.
PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW
- Select the Products > Price Lists tabs.
- Select the price list you wish to duplicate.
Price list details are viewed on screen.
- Select Duplicate.
The “Confirm” window appears.
- Select Confirm to confirm duplication.
A message confirms that the duplication has been completed.
- Display the price list to view the new price list created by duplication. For the moment, it's identical in every way to the one that created it, apart from its status, which is “INACTIVE”, and its number.
- Select the new price list to view details.
- Select the pencil icon to modify the period and/or the supplier and/or the price list name to give it the right information.
- You can now add/remove items and/or modify prices.
- Select Enable once you have made all the necessary changes so that the products can be ordered.
