Overview: In addition to the regular direct labor setup in the system, Workforce allows shift managers to export spreadsheet formats to adjust and import preconfigured direct work tables into the system.
Start from: The Workforce module.
Navigate to Configuration > Direct Work.
Select Export to download a spreadsheet (.XLS) to your computer. The spreadsheet contains fields for all Direct Work definitions.
Filling up the direct work table
Select the Export tab in the Excel spreadsheet.
Enter the required data in the yellow boxes in each of the following sections:
Workstation
Enter the Workstation ID. These are shown in the Workstations tab.
Demand Base
Enter the Demand Base code as indicated (1=Sales, 2=Checks, 3=Customers).
Sales Types
In the upper box:
Enter 0 (Total Sale) and then leave the other boxes blank. If a value is entered, an ERROR indicator will be produced.
Or enter 1 (Selected Sales Types) and enter the sales ID (these are displayed in the Sales Types tab). If an incorrect code is entered, an ERROR indicator will be displayed.
Direct Work Start/End
Enter the Direct Work start and end times to set the required Direct Work time before and after the close of the sale. The values entered must be between -5.00 and 5.00 in quarter hour intervals (0.25). If an incorrect value is entered, an ERROR indicator will be displayed.
Enter 1 in the lower box to lock the Direct Work Start/End and prevent Direct Work definitions from being modified OR 0 to leave them unlocked.
Notes: This process is the equivalent of what is done with the Direct Work sliders you can use in the Direct Work screens. The sliders allow you to set a time interval for each sale of the type configured for each day of the week. The middle of each time interval (0) represents the time at which the sale closes that day.
Direct Work Productivity Table
This relates to the Demand Base (Sales, Checks, Customers) entered at the top of the form.
Enter a number in the 'To' boxes. This will automatically populate the next 'From' box.
Enter the number of employees required to complete the task.
Save the spreadsheet regularly during the completion process.
Import direct work table
Go back to Workforce > Configuration > Direct Work.
Select Import to activate a pop-up that displays the list of records.
Select Choose File to open the File Explorer on your computer.
Locate the spreadsheet and select it so it can appear in the Direct Work uploading screen.
Select Import to upload your completed spreadsheet into the Direct Work section of Workforce.
