Overview: Training managers must review and mark each appraisal as complete. This lets them provide knowledge and support, giving guidance throughout the review while also overseeing the process to ensure the learner understands the next steps to take.

Note: Some companies choose to rename 'appraisals' to something that works better for their company. If appraisals is part of your package and you are having trouble locating it on your system, please get in touch with us.

Start from: The Flow Learning Dashboard.

In the To Be Reviewed section, two main areas allow you to view a list of appraisals that are ready to be reviewed:

Appraisals requiring reviewer lets you view a list of all appraisals that have been scheduled but haven’t had a reviewer allocated. You can select each appraisal (or multiple appraisals) from this list and pick a reviewer. See Assign a reviewer to scheduled appraisals for instructions on how to do this.
Appraisals awaiting my review lets you view a list of all appraisals already assigned and waiting to be reviewed by you. You can only review and complete one appraisal at a time.

  • Select the first appraisal you wish to review. This will take you to the learner’s details.
  • Select Appraisals from the menu and choose the appraisal you wish to review from the list.

From within the appraisal,

  • Select Step 1 to edit Details such as changing the reviewer, the appraisal date and adding additional info.
  • Select Step 2 to add your Responses to the Reviewer Responses field within the appraisal template.
  • Select Submit responses to make the responses visible to the learner.

Note: The sign off settings chosen when the appraisal is created, will dictate when the learner and reviewer’s responses can be seen by one another. See Understand appraisal sign off settings for more information.

  • Select Step 3 to add responses to the Action Plan. You can also assign an action plan course comprising modules, external training, appraisals, workbooks, competencies and goals. See Understand Action Plan settings for more information on this section.

Note: The numbering of the steps may change depending on what is selected.

  • Select Save to confirm any changes.

Note: Updated changes to the appraisal will only be sent to the learner once this Save has been completed.

The learner will then be notified via email that a manager's responses have been added to their appraisal. Once the appraisal has been completed by the learner and you want to remove it from the list of scheduled appraisals, select Mark as Complete.
