Overview: Workstation configuration is crucial for shift organization, as it helps shift managers assign the most competent employees to perform specific tasks.
To learn more about workstations in the shift organization, see Understand default and enabled workstations.
Start from: The Workforce module.
Select Scheduling > Weekly ROTAs from the main menu.
Choose the Work Center you wish to work on.
Select the arrow icon to open the Projected Shift screen.
Configure enabled workstations
An employee may hold more than one qualifying position. The assignment of enabled workstations can be done individually or collectively in the Projected Shift screen.
Individually
Locate the employee's name under the Employee column.
Use the right mouse click to display the action menu and select Workstations.
In the Enabled Workstations pop-up window, check the box of the workstation(s) you will enable for that employee and assign a rating to each one.
Select Apply to save the changes OR Cancel to discard them.
Collectively
Use the right mouse click on any employee under the Employee column to display the action menu and select Enabled Workstations (All Workers).
Select the Workstation field you want to enable in the employee's row and assign a rating to each job.
Notes: You can delete an enabled workstation by selecting the trash can icon in the post field. You can assign all workstations by pressing the + button next to the employee's name, as well as unassign them all using the - button.
Once the assignment is complete, select Accept to save it OR Cancel to discard it.
To learn about the importance of rating, see Understand the importance of stars in optimization.
Configure default workstation
Locate the employee's name under the Employee column.
Use the right mouse click to display the action menu and select Workstations.
In the Enabled Workstations pop-up window, display the list of workstations in the Default Workstation drop-down and select the appropriate one for the employee.
Select Apply to save the changes OR Cancel to discard them.
The configuration of enabled and default workstations, although editable, remains for future shifts if it has already been performed in a shift.
