Overview: With the migration to Mapal OS, GIR Staff is also switching to Mapal One. Workers must understand what this switch means so that they can access their day-to-day work information from the right system.

Start from: The App Store (Android or iOS)

What’s Mapal One?

Mapal One is our employee app that unifies shift management, learning and development, compliance and engagement. Migrating to Mapal OS, includes migrating from GirStaff to Mapal One. All the features and ease of use you're familiar with are maintained and now we've made it simpler to users.

Accessing Mapal One for the first time

The main change is that employees will need to log in with a username instead of a code. Each username is generated during the migration using each employee's email address.

To access:

  • Search for the Mapal One app in the app store and download it.
  • Enter your email address.
  • Select the option Forgot Your Password? to reset your password.

What functionalities will you find in Mapal One?

Schedule

In the Schedule section, you can see all your assigned shifts displayed in a calendar, with views by day, week, or month. You can use the calendar on the left to navigate quickly, and the filters on the right to refine your results. Click to view shift details and your coworkers for that shift.

In future developments, this section will also include:

  • Shift proposal: Click to view shift details and accept or reject the proposal. On mobile devices, you can also accept or reject by swiping left on the card.
  • Holidays & absences: Click to view all related details.
  • Preferences: If you've requested a shift or holiday preference, it will appear on your schedule, showing the status of your request. You can click to view and edit it if it's still pending.

Shifts & Absences

This page is your hub for managing shifts and absences. Here, you'll find:

  • Your upcoming shifts and absences and a graph showing your taken, scheduled, and pending holidays.
  • A list of your assigned shifts, absences, and holidays by week.
  • A list of shift proposals from your manager (Shift finder). Once accepted, the proposal will move to your assigned items.
  • A list of your shift and holidays preferences, with the option to submit new preference requests.

Preferences request

  • Shift preference: Request to work or not work on a specific date or period.
  • Holiday preference: Let your manager know which days you’d like to take off within your available holiday allowance.

Preference request status

  • Pending: Awaiting your manager’s confirmation.
  • Rejected: Your manager has rejected the request.
  • Accepted: Your manager has accepted the request. Once confirmed, accepted holidays will appear in your assigned items. Depending on your company's setup, you may need to confirm that you've viewed the acceptance

Time & Attendance

This is the main page for managing your clock-ins and worked hours. Here, you'll find:

The clock in/out section

  • Your worked time: This section lists all your clock-ins by day. You can use the calendar to navigate quickly between dates.

Clock in/out

  • Start your clock: See your next shift and choose to clock in via GPS, QR or remotely. For remote clock-ins, you'll need to select your location and workstation. In some cases, you'll also need to complete a survey before starting your shift. Once clocked in, you'll see a card displaying your clock-in summary with the status working. You’ll have options to start a break, change your workstation, or clock out.
  • Break: You can choose from a list of available types of breaks. When you start a break, the clock stops, and your status will show On break. You can resume your shift by selecting end break or clock out completely by choosing Clock out.
  • Change workstation: You can switch workstations without stopping your clock by selecting this option.
  • Clock out: This stops the clock completely, marking the end of your shift. You may be required to complete a survey after clocking out.

Documents

In this section, you'll find all documents assigned to you. If a document requires your signature, you'll receive an email notification with a link to a document preview for digital signing. Once you've signed, the status will be updated in Mapal One.
